Lowe, Craine, and Fabrizio Winners

Summer DTL League, Round One

The first round of the Tower Insurance DTL league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 17 competitors taking part in very misty conditions, making seeing the targets very difficult.

The leaders after the first round were Peter Lowe and Mark Riley both scoring 23/68, Jack Clague was only one point behind on 23/67 in third place with Peter Kelly in forth place on 22/66 followed by John Moore in fifth place on 23/65 and making up the top six were Rob Corlett 23/63 and George Davies 22/63.

After the second round we had the following results, in C class Jeff Corkill was in third place on 35/99 with Mike Whitehead taking second place with 39/110, but winning C class with 39/114 was Brian Kelly. In B class Jack Clague was third on 42/122 with John Moore second on 44/126 but taking B class mainly down to hitting the only straight of the day was George Davies on 47/135. In A class Peter Kelly was third on 43/129 with Mark Riley taking second place on 46/135 but top of the class on 46/136 was Peter Lowe.

Summer ABT League, Round One

In the afternoon with the mist now lifting the first round of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT league was held and again Peter Lowe was at the front after the first round along with Steven Craine, both scoring 22 with Mark Riley in third place on 20.

After the second round Steven Craine was in first place on his own with 41 points with Peter Lowe and Stan Skinner in equal second place on 39.

Summer Olympic Skeet League, Round One

The first round of the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic Skeet league was also held and Giulio Fabrizio was the winner with 40 points with Jeff Corkill in second place on 37 and Dave Corlett third on 30.

Mihailovits leads Summer Skeet

English Skeet Summer League, Round 1

The first round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English Skeet league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions.

We had a three way tie for first place in A class with Paul Mihailovits, Roman Sammer and James Simpson all on 24 followed by Jeff Corkill on 23. Leading B class were Dave Corlett and Mark Hepworth on 22 with Peter Kelly and Mike Walker in equal third place on 20. In C class we had lady shooter Madeleine Simpson on 22 with Peter Fabrizio in second place on 20 followed by Liam Kirkpatrick in third place on 19.

After the second round in C class we had a tie for second place between Liam Kirkpatrick and Madeleine Simpson on 39 points but taking C class with 42 points was Peter Fabrizio. We also had a tie for third place in B class between Dave Corlett and Peter Kelly on 41 points with Mark Hepworth taking second place on 42 but winning B class with 44 points was Mike Walker. We had another tie in A class with Roman Sammer and Jeff Corkill tying for third place on 44 points, James Simpson was in second place on 45 but top of the class with 48 points was last years league winner  Paul Mihailovits, (it could have been 49 if he had not missed low house seven in the first round)

Walker takes the High Road

Winter All-Round

The Winter All Round kindly sponsored by Strand Vets was held at Meary Veg Santon with 25 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions.

The leader after the DTL and English skeet sections which were both been shot at the same time was trap shooter Mike Walker with 146 points mainly down to him hitting his maiden 25 straight in English skeet. In second place on 141 was Paul Mihailovits with Mark Barnett in third place on 134, Mark having the best round of DTL with a 25/74 straight, John Moore was in fourth place on 133 with the leading B class shooters Will Rand and junior Joe Faragher next on 125. Leading C class at this stage was Andre Visnjov on 122 with lady shooter Irene Stockil in second place in C on 111.

The Pro Sporting layout which was shot from the high bank had some very good targets on it and once all had shot we had the following results. In C class Mike Whitehead was in third place on 149 with Andre Visnjov taking second place on 158 but winning C class with 162 points was lady shooter Irene Stockil. We had a tie for second place in B class between junior Joe Faragher and Dave Corlett on 182 but winning B class with 188 points was Will Rand. John Moore was third in A class on 187 with Mark Barnett taking second place on 188 and winning A class with 195 was Paul Mihailovits, but the performance of the day has to go to Mike Walker who was the only shooter to stay in the twenties and break the two hundred barrier to win the Winter all Round with a grand total of 205 – well done Mike!

The prizes at the end were presented by Andre Visnjov of Strand Vets. A big thank you to all that made it a very good shoot.

High Gun Tie for Cross and Mihailovits

English Skeet Winter League, Round 4

The fourth and final round of the Utopia Hair Salon Winter series English Skeet league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 21 competitors taking part in calm cool conditions.

The leaders after the first round were A class shooters Stan Cross and Paul Mihailovits on 24, in equal third place on 22 were John Moore (A)  and Joe Faragher the leader of B class. The leading C class shooter at this stage was Giulio Fabrizio with 20 points.

After the second round we had the following results: in C class in equal third place were Brian Kelly and Irene Stockil on 38 points, in second place on 39 was Peter Fabrizio but taking C class with 42 points was Giulio Fabrizio. Peter Kelly was third in B class on 43 with junior Joe Faragher taking second place on 44 but winning B class with 45 points was Will Rand. In A class John Moore was third on 46 but we had a tie for first place between Stan Cross and Paul Mihailovits both scoring 47 points.

Stembridge Shows the Way

2023 Winter Pro Sporting – Round Four

The fourth and final round of the Winter Series Pro Sporting league kindly sponsored by Will Rand was held at Meary Veg Santon with 21 competitors taking part in very windy but dry conditions.

The leader after the the first layout was B class shooter Ben Stembridge with 22 points, in second place on 21 was A class Michael Cross with Joe Faragher (A) and Mark Riley (B) in equal third place on 20 followed by Liam Kirkpatrick (B) on 18 and making up the top six was John Moore (A) on 17.

On the second layout with the wind getting even stronger making the targets very unpredictable we had the following results. In C class Sue Doyle finished in third place with 17 points with Richard Kelly taking second place with 18 points but winning C class with 22 points was Harvey Stembridge. In B class Liam Kirkpatrick and Stan Cross tied for second place on 35 points but taking B Class with 42 points and also highgun on the day was Ben Stembridge.

In A class we had a tie for third place between Peter Kelly and Rob Corlett with 33 points, in second place on 38 was Michael Cross with junior Joe Faragher taking A class with 39 points.
